Our Background

Beginning as a regional provider to hospitals in Ohio, MatchMD™ pioneered secure healthcare communication as we know it today, 20 years ago.

Best of all, with the benefit of our ongoing research and development efforts combined with valued client input, we continue to improve our technology through additional capabilities designed to improve operational efficiencies and patient care.

Today, MatchMD™ serves clients across the United States with its personal, one-on-one method of customer support and 24/7 client support services delivering solutions for specific needs and providing technology that improves speed, accuracy, and results for patients, providers, and facilities alike.

BASIL BAKRI

President and CEO

Basil Bakri was named Chief Executive Officer of MatchMD™ in 2012. Bakri is responsible for implementing the vision of the organization as he oversees the day-to-day operation of all elements of the company, including research and development, sales and marketing, and customer service.

Bakri was pivotal in the design and launch of the company’s groundbreaking medical communications platform in late 1999 and has played a vital role in the professional development of the online service since 2000. 

Maintaining a keen focus on evolving technological innovations within the healthcare industry, Bakri works closely with key partners in developing customer-driven modifications and integrations for the MatchMD™ online platform and mobile application. 

Bakri has spent more than 25 years working in the medical space, and before MatchMD™, is noted for his innovative and early-adopted version of electronic medical records for the Wallace-Kettering Neuroscience Foundation under the Kettering Health Network.

Bakri earned a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Jordan.

He is married with four children, and when he is not working, which isn’t very often, you may find Bakri cycling on the many bike trails of Southwestern Ohio.

AUSTIN CLEVELAND

Founder

Austin Cleveland co-founded MatchMD™ in 2000. Since launching the company, Cleveland has pursued a long career on the hospital side of the healthcare industry, before returning to MatchMD™ in a more day-to-day sales and marketing advisory role in mid-2020. 

As founder of MatchMD™, Cleveland was instrumental in developing its groundbreaking medical communications platform in late 1999 and has served on the board of directors since 2000. 

Maintaining a keen focus on evolving technological innovations within the healthcare industry, Bakri works closely with key partners in developing customer-driven modifications and integrations for the MatchMD™ online platform and mobile application. 

Cleveland has spent more than 30 years working in the medical space for organizations, including Hospital Corp. of America, MedCath, Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, Cardiovascular Ventures Inc., Select Specialty Hospitals, Mercy Health System, Indiana Heart Center, and Aurora Health Systems.

Cleveland has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Baylor University and a Masters of Business Administration from Mary Hardin Baylor in Texas. 

He is married with five children and eight grandchildren. When he is not working, Cleveland cherishes his time on the water fishing, swimming, or kayaking, along with his favorite dry land activity playing golf.

CURTIS B. WIMSATT

Vice President of Operations

Curtis Wimsatt joined MatchMD™ in 2002. As Vice President of Operations, he is focused daily on increasing productivity and efficiency throughout the MatchMD™ portfolio of communication solutions. 

During his 18-year tenure at MatchMD™, Wimsatt has worked in every facet of its business operations, including client care management, software implementation, support operations, account development, and technical writing.

Continuously providing new strategies to ensure MatchMD™ products meet the specific clinical needs, Wimsatt leverages his thorough understanding of its clients, support, and web-based infrastructure in support of any size facility or healthcare network.

Wimsatt holds Bachelor’s Degrees in Education and History from Miami University and has begun graduate work at the University of Dayton.

Beyond MatchMD™, his passions include travel and literature.

AMJAD KHALED

Human Resources Manager

Amjad Khaled, or A.J. as his friends and coworkers know him, was named Human Resources Manager of MatchMD™ in 2020. A.J. is responsible for carrying out the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the company and its human resources plans and programs daily.

Before assuming the H.R. position, Khaled served as Client Operations Analyst providing direct customer support during the crucial onboarding process and worked with both the MatchMD™ development and operations teams. 

As a keen family man, A.J. likens his MatchMD™ team to a second family. Quick to smile and always eager to help, even before taking on the role of human resources manager, Khaled fostered a friendly environment, providing flexibility for the team, and demonstrating a strong appreciation for excellent work habits.

Khaled earned a B.A. in Finance from the University of Damascus and a Masters in Human Resources from Purdue University. He is planning to begin work soon on a Ph.D.

He is married, and when he is not working, you’ll find him playing soccer, despite two different knee surgeries, hiking, and playing video games.

KAMEL MOJAWAZ

Product Manager

Kamel Mojawaz joined MatchMD™ in 2016, presently serving as Product Manager and lead Development Manager. He is responsible for the strategy, development, and deployment of all MatchMD™ applications.

He brings over a decade of experience to the organization and is an integral part of the MatchMD™ R&D team.

With his incredible work ethic, it’s not unusual to find Mojawaz deeply involved in development-related projects at all hours, day and night. 

Mojawaz holds a B.A. in Computer Engineering from The University of Aleppo and earned a Masters in Computer Science from Wright State University.

When finally making time to step away from the keyboard, Mojawaz enjoys reading and binging the latest on Netflix.

ANTHONY SANCHEZ

Call Center Manager

Anthony Sanchez was named the MatchMD™Call Center Manager in 2020.  As director of the national call center, Sanchez leads a remarkable team of professionals whose core mission is to provide exemplary patient and customer outcomes by providing an unmatched level of caring service that exceeds expectations.  

With over 20 years’ experience in the Healthcare and Call Center industries, Sanchez is a proven and dedicated leader with a passion for serving with great integrity and purpose. 

A lifelong student of customer behavior, Sanchez is continuously seeking out knowledge and information to ensure he is always up to date and mindful of any opportunities for improvement. He also follows the Golden Rule Principle in his personal and professional life: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” 

Sanchez graduated from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio with a B.A. in Business Administration.

A family man first, his two sons are his absolute pride and joy, and he spends a large part of his free time playing video games with them. He is also a huge Star Trek fan and will happily discuss Trekkie Trivia with anyone who asks.

SCOTT JONES

Business Development/Account Manager

Scott Jones joined MatchMD™ in a sales role in 2018. He is responsible for all activities related to sales, market development, and the implementation of the company’s sales strategy.

Jones has worked in the healthcare field for more than a decade. During that time, he realized how important proper communication is for not only the healthcare industry but for those in need of medical attention. It is that empathy that makes his commitment to the customer such a significant part of his account management skillset.

He has a B.S. in Biology from the University of Dayton. A Flyer through and through, Jones is a proud Daytonian, born and raised. In one way or another, he seems to know everyone in his hometown.

Married with a young son, Jones is a family man, first and foremost. When he isn’t playing with his son, he can occasionally be found on the golf course or a local fishing hole.

CHRIS PLENNERT

Business Development/Account Manager

Chris Plennert, the newest member of the MatchMD™ account management team, is responsible for all activities related to sales, market development, and the implementation of the company’s sales strategy.

Plennert brings over 25 years of successful business development experience on both frontline and management levels. A communications expert, he has spent most of his career working in broadcast media in both the Dayton and Cincinnati markets.

With MatchMD™, Plennert’s primary mission is to provide effective communication solutions for his clients by making workflow more reliable, seamless, and efficient.

He has a B.A. in Communications from the University of Dayton and is a proud Flyer. Originally from South Bend, Indiana, Plennert has made the Miami Valley his home.

Married for more than 26 years, his son attends Lakota East High School. Plennert’s favorite activities are spending time with his family, supporting his son’s soccer career, listening to music, and watching and participating in all sports.

SALLY RAIS

Administration/Operations

Sally Rais joined MatchMD™ to provide administrative support in 2013. Sally oversees most of the time-consuming administrative tasks for all departments, and there is a strong belief throughout the company that MatchMD™ could not operate without her steady hand.

For many MatchMD™ clients, Sally is their first point-of-contact, providing both a thoughtful and reassuring response to their needs. Many days, she is the first to arrive and the last to leave, possessing a strong work ethic and a desire to leave no task unfinished before leaving at the end of the day. 

Sally holds a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Damascus and worked post-graduate for two years in the School of Business.

Sally loves photography, as it is a great way not only to express her creativity but to have fun and unwind from her long days keeping the rest of the company organized.
